- Traditional Carrier
The Problem
The carrier’s existing billing system was too rigid for their growing requirements. They were unable to react effectively to a shifting market as their existing supplier’s development was continually held up.
The Solution
We delivered a suite of solutions that interacted with switch mediation systems to produce daily and monthly CDRs, web portals for provisioning and operational tools such as call viewing and analysis, fault reporting and fraud management. The client received a flexible system tailored to its requirements. Our efficient billing system enabled the carrier to dispatch accurate and timely invoices. Their web presence was enhanced in line with end-user functionality and they enjoy full control over their system’s direction.
- Newly Established VOIP Carrier
The Problem
This carrier entering the market for the first time needed a system capable of handling CDRs taken from a broadsoft switch along with added support from Symbiant. They also needed to be able to distribute accurate CDRs to resellers within a limited time span of switch collection, without relying on the presence of an operator.
The Solution
The client received a billing and CDR production system with differential charging ability for on and off net calls, codec type, bandwidth utilization and breakout. CDRs were scheduled for collection, automatically rated and output with no need for manual intervention. The client was able to manage their customers expectations with CDRs ready for early collection. Their newly established business was able to develop in its chosen direction with prompt turnaround on all development and has established itself among the elite VOIP carriers.
- Converged Pan European Voice and Data Provider
The Problem
This multi national client had offices spanning the UK, France and Germany. They required a multilingual system with the ability to invoice both voice and data usage in multiple currencies. Key requirements were to maintain data integrity and the flexibility to access a single dataset, producing bills in a variety of formats, in localised currency and language.
The Solution
Symbiant provided an integrated operating and billing system, which could install and manage voice and data activity. A single dataset was interfaced by each system allowing the operation to manage on a real-time basis, maintaining data integrity. Invoices produced locally were accurate and compliant with regulations specific to those countries.
- UK Telecoms Outsourced Service Provider
The Problem
The billing system this service provider used was slow and inaccurate. It failed to cope with the requirements surrounding the operation of a multi client organisation. The system was counter-intuitive, which impacted directly on operational productivity.
The Solution
Symbiant tackled this by the provision of a multi client billing and operating system. It comprised very high levels of automation and integration as well as a suite of web services to allow in house remote customer acquisition and management systems to seamlessly interact with the billing system. Primary advantages included same day new product development, increased billing speed and integrity, verification of carrier and WLR costs and a signification reduction in operational cost.
- UK Switchless Reseller
The Problem
This reseller’s base had outgrown their systems’ ability to produce timely and accurate invoices. With complete bill runs taking around 3 weeks, they faced cash flow issues due to heavy time constraints surrounding payment collection.
The Solution
Symbiant rapidly implemented an integrated operation and billing system, managing LCR, WLR, CPS, Mobile, Equipment and Maintenance. One immediate and key benefit was to achieve the reduction of the entire bill production cycle time from 3 weeks to 48 hours, which occurred in the first month.

The Problem
This new reseller required a system that was cost effective and would consequently allow them to be competitive within a challenging market. They needed to be able to run accurate commission payment and claw-back reports. Flexible tariff management and easy navigation featured high on the priority list.
The Solution
The client opted for our Out of Box system. This low cost startup option contains all the necessary components to get resellers off the ground without compromising functionality or competitiveness. Commission payment, DD, Auddis and Sage reports are integrated eliminating the need to operate multiple datasets and allowing prompt payment to their channel. The tariff management menu enables rapid deployment of your chosen tariffs, as well as rate manipulation without the need for 3rd party involvement.
